b) General outline of the S/U option for students under GPA

Students are to declare the course(s) that they would like to exercise the S/U Option during the period (for Academic 2011/2012) as shown below:

Please familiarize yourselves with the details on S/U and the FAQ reflected here before you exercise the option.

We wish to remind you that the S/U option that you have exercised for a course(s) is irrevocable once the deadline for declaration has lapsed.

A course will be graded ‘Satisfactory’ if the grade obtained is at least ‘C’, otherwise the course will be graded ‘Unsatisfactory’.

Course(s) read on the S/U basis will not be included in the computation of the CGPA.

A ‘S’ grade is required in order for the AUs to be accredited towards the total AU requirement for graduation.

Once the course has been placed under the S/U option, the repeat attempt(s) of the same course will also fall under the S/U option.

No changes can be made after the S/U option exercise period as state above.

S/U option is applicable only to: (a) All categories of GER-PE; and (b) GER-UE course(s) which are NOT intended for minor programmes.

Maximum AUs allowed to fall under the S/U option is 12 AUs and minimum AUs of graded course(s) required in order to be awarded degree is 77 AUs.
