We offer a full-time 4-year undergraduate programme leading to the degree of Bachelor of Engineering (Materials Engineering) with Honours.

In Year 1, you are given a broad education in all important aspects of science and engineering. You will study the same courses as Year 1 students of other engineering disciplines.

The fundamentals of materials science, processing, characterisation and applications of materials will be introduced in the second and third year. You will have the opportunity to undergo an industrial attachment in Year 3.

In Year 4, you are given the option to do advanced topics that lead to specialisations in various areas of materials engineering.

We are confident that you will enjoy excellent training during your various individual and team project work, as well as laboratory sessions.

If you perform extremely well in your first semester of Year 1, you will be offered entry into the Accelerated Bachelor’s Programme (ABP), where you can earn your degree with honours in a total of 7 semesters (3.5 years) instead of the usual 8 semesters (4 years).
