We are pleased to share that NTU Singapore and the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission have jointly launched a research centre – NTU Singapore-CEA Alliance for Research in Circular Economy (NTU SCARCE) to develop innovative e-waste recycling technologies. Inaugurated by Senior Minister of State in the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Dr Amy Khor, on 13 March 2019, SCARCE will focus on 4 research thrusts to address the recycling and recovery of materials from common e-waste, such as lithium ion batteries and printed circuit boards.
Along with Co-Directors – Professor Madhavi Srinivasan and Dr Jean-Christophe P. Gabriel, other Principal Investigators in the centre include Prof Alex Yan Qingyu, Prof Claude Guet, Assoc Prof Nripan Mathews, Asst Prof Dalton Tay Chor Yong and Asst Prof Yu Jing. Their collective expertise will empower all stakeholders to develop technologically advanced and viable solutions to ensure a sustainable future by closing the materials and waste loop.
