What the mind can conceive, materials engineers can create.
Look around you, everything we use is made from materials. From a simple bed to a luxurious car - things that make modern living so much easier, are all composed of materials with specific functions. In the past, cavemen experimented with different tools and through trial and error, they discovered which ones work best for hunting, starting fires or as clothing. We’ve come a long way since then and today we select materials for tools and applications based on a scientific understanding of the nature of materials and how things are put together.
Materials Engineers are the maestros of this selection and application process and their role is to study materials from a unified point of view – the structure, properties, and ultimately what we can do with it. They have been instrumental in the development of revolutionary materials for the latest innovation and will continue to be at the forefront of solving problem at a global scale; engineering the next generation technologies in the biomedical, electronics, clean energy, aerospace, chemical and nanotechnology sectors and more!
