MOE Academic Research Fund (AcRF) Tier 1:

Research proposals of project values ≥ $5,000 and < $500,000, over 3 years

Grant Variation
(Without change in total grant amount) 
 Grant Variation involves the change in forgoing originally approved items/ requiring additional or new items under equipment, consumable items or manpower.
Project Amendments  -Changes to Project

Progress Report
a) Submit softcopy of RGF4 via OLGA
b) Submit hardcopy of RGF4 to Siu Din
Both (a) and (b) are due on 31 July yearly. Please note that the reporting period is from 1 April to 31 Mar. Please submit to Ms. Ng Siu Din for admin check.

Final Report Submission

Please submit the following once the Tier 2 Project ends:

1) Final Report Form
2) Checklist for final report
3) Reviewer Report
(Reviewer report to be conducted by an independent reviewer nominated by HOD)

All items 1-3 should reach RSO within 2 months of project end date. Please submit to Ms. Ng Siu Din for admin check.

The period of the grant is 3 years from the date the faculty joins NTU till the expiry of his first 3-year contract.
The maximum grant extension period is 6 months. Request for extension requires the endorsement of the Chair and approval of the Dean. Such requests will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
In principle, start-up grants are non- transferrable. Approval from the Dean is needed for change of faculty. Please note that these must be exceptional cases and they will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

Collaboration Guidelines The Host Institution and each Partner Institution shall abide by the following guidelines when engaging in collaborations with any Collaborator pertaining to the
Research.
Audit Issues and Proposed Measures It is crucial to note that ultimately it is the PI and the school’s responsibility to oversee
the grants administration and adherence to fund guidelines. The proposed checks and
controls can only be effective in avoiding the recurrence of the audit issues with the full cooperation from the PIs, HODs, ACRs, Chairs and Deans.

Project Extension Form Extension of Project Completion Date

According to PSF04 Grants management guidelines :
6.5 Request for project extension should be made in the final year but before the last 6 months of the original completion date. The Research Office shall reject all earlier and late requests made outside of this period. A*Star will like to stress to PIs of on-going projects that all project extensions have to be submitted in iGrants and reach A*STAR before the end date of the project. No schedule 6 extension will be accepted even if the extension was approved by NTU RSO before the end date of the project. In the event that the request for extension reaches SERC after the end date of the project SERC will reject the extension and proceed to close the project.
Annual Progress Report Annual submission of progress report to be submitted via iGRANTS
Final Report and Closing of Project At the end of the project, PI is required to submit the following documents to Siu Din within 3 months of the project completion date:
1) Final Report submission to be submitted via iGRANTS. Hardcopy is not required.
2) A1-sized Poster and completed Questionnaire
