This instruction supplements the instructions in the Lab Manual. If you need, you can refer to the
Laboratory Manual.

You will have to complete the following:
Read the Lab Manual
Complete the online module for the LEARNING Part.
The Learning part (1 hr) is available in the virtual SEM laboratory in O.M.N.I. and includes a Library link, a Microscope Laboratory link and a Specimen Preparation Laboratory link. This part is integrated with short course notes.
Complete the online module for the EXPERIENCE Part.
The Experience part (1 hr) is found under the virtual SEM link and allows the user to practice all operational procedures needed to use the SEM and produce results using Secondary Electrons (SE), Backscattered Electrons (BSE) and analytical X-rays (EDX).
Complete the ONLINE TEST.
The online test must be completed in a single access session at http://www.mse.ntu.edu.sg/omni/ ==> On-line Test. To access the tests each enrolled student will be emailed a User ID and Password. The online test is called MS2071.
The online test will be
available from 21th August 2009 (Friday), 08.00 am until
6th
November 2009 (Friday), 23.59 pm. You are given
one week to attempt the online quiz (based on the
grouping that you are assigned to).

For those groups who have to submit the FORMAL REPORTS, you will have to complete the FR and submit it
ONLINE using Edventure during the week assigned to your group.
