This lab boasts a range of first-rate
facilities that support MSE in its in-depth teaching
and extensive research. The high quality systems
it has include equipment for the preparation and
observation of metallographic specimens.
The lab
is also equipped with a computer-linked image analyzer
as well as Rockwell, Vickers and Microhardness
test equipment. NDT equipment includes eddy current,
magnetic flux and ultrasonic flaw detectors. Tensile
and fatigue testing facilities are also available,
including a computer-controlled servo hydraulic
test system with 100 kN capacity.
