MSE 20th Anniversary
Stories about MSE which has grown by leaps and bounds in the last two decades are not easily retold in one night. Even so, it would not have been possible without the present stature of the school to acknowledge and embrace its yester-years. When words are futile to capture the memoires of the past, we could only be spared by the presence of those who have shared their journey with MSE to where it is today.
On the 14 October 2011, close to 300 MSE staff, alumni, partners, benefactors and ex- staff came together to celebrate the School’s 20th Anniversary. Guest-of-Honour for the night included Mrs Joan Fong, wife of late Professor Fong Hock Sun (1st Dean of SME, also the founder of Materials Engineering in NTU), Professor Freddy Boey and Mrs Boey (NTU Deputy President and Provost, also 2nd Dean/Chair of MSE).
Date: 14 October 2011, Friday

MSE Convocation Ceremony 2011
Congratulations to MSE Graduating Class of 2011!
Every year, MSE produces not only academically outstanding alumni but also individuals who excel in other areas of life. This year, 247 undergraduate and 20 graduate students from the Class of 2011 were conferred degrees. Many of them embarked on their career immediately with organisations such as GlobalFoundries, Micron Semiconductor Asia, DSO National Laboratories and ExxonMobil. Some venture into less-familiar ground such as education and banking sectors.
The official convocation ceremony and reception was held in the Nanyang Auditorium on the 25 July and 27 July 2011 for the graduate students and undergraduate students respectively. During the celebration we saw our graduates don their graduation gowns and smiled happily at the cameras with their proud parents and family members, to capture the moment of pride and happiness for them to be remembered for life.
Our warmest congratulations go out to all the following award winners at the Convocation Ceremony –
