Defence Materials
The
School works on both functional and structural
materials for advanced defence applications.
The research work focuses on enhancing existing
systems and the development of new material systems
for soldiers and vehicles.
The
collaborators of the research work include the
Defence Science and Technology Agency and the
DSO National Laboratories. The current research
programmes include:
- Development
of functionally graded materials for protection
against ballistic and electromagnetic attacks
- Development
of low power flash goggles
- Thermo-electric
materials for automobiles
- Synthesis
of super-hard nano-materials
